What were your New Year's resolutions for 2006? How did you do?
Much as I am all about writing goals and sticking to them, um, I can't remember what I was supposed to stick to this year....my bad!
I do have goals for 2007! More on that later. :)

I just found out that my brother and SIL got the internet hooked up at their place. Big deal right - except this is the SIL that used what I wrote on a blog a few years ago against me and hasn't let it go (she is still using it as to why she doesn't like me anymore).
And I wouldn't care - until tonight my brother says "hey your myspace profile is private"
Dude, there is a reason it is private! LMAO
Like that in the oh so coveted top 8 is his exgirlfriend.
From YEARS ago - but SIL would probably hold that over me too. So whatever.
But not really whatever - what program should I use so I can find out if they are visiting (and they probably will do a search for my name) so I can find out their IP so I can thus block them.
Yeah that sort of seems like a big deal to go through - and even though I super rarely write anything about them, it's my life and I can block them if I want to.
Thanks for your help. :D

Saturday started out so bad. We were supposed to go to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. In the morning I told DH I was thinking of asking the teenager down the street to come over a few times a week and keep an eye on the kids so I could do stuff - school stuff, work stuff, house cleaning stuff, 10-minutes-to-myself stuff.
He freaked out. He said that if that happened everyone in the neighborhood would be talking about me needing a babysitter for my kids so I could do my "job" - which is the house. I was so annoyed I managed to stay annoyed at him all day long.
Finally at about 9PM he asked if I was still upset - I said yes - he said how about at 9:30 we stop being mad at each other so we can plan tomorrow. Stubborn person that I am, I said no thanks.
Sunday morning (actualy anniversary) we both got woke up by the kids and I asked him if it would be okay if I slept in. Afraid I was going to still be mad at him, he said yes.
I slept until noon. Noon people! If that doesn't show I need a break I'm not sure what will...
When I got up DH reminded me that I was planning on going shopping with a friend of mine. I quickly got ready and went to her house. We took her car and were supposed to go to three stores - we nixed one because she thought it was closed. So then we added Target. I am a browser when I shop. I will get what I went for but also look around. I know, very bad habit!
So we browse and browse and browse some more. I went to the bathroom at the last store and her husband had called while I was in there. He said we needed to get home because the baby was crying. I knew what I wanted to get - but of course I have that browsing thing wrong with me....
a half hour later he calls again. And then five minutes later he calls again. By that point we were almost running to the front of the store to check out! LOL I figured something along the lines of he was just done watching the baby and wanted her to come back so she could.
We drive back to her house and all was fine - until we turned the corner and saw my van. Which meant my husband and kids were there. I sat up and said Oh sh*t. She burst out laughing and we ran in the house. I said what is going on because why are you here!
Turned out it was a surprise! We were only supposed to go shopping for maybe a couple of hours and then our friends were going to watch our kids while we went out to dinner. Aaaawwwww We still went to dinner but it was just later then usual. We went downtown to a restaurant we used to go to ALL the time when we first lived here and were just living in sin, rather then being properly married (HAHAHAHAHA). It was nice - an actual surprise (that other people were in on!), good food, adult conversation oh and I got to sleep in first. And I went shopping.
I may take some things back because I was done Christmas shopping a few weeks ago and so what the heck am I doing buying stuff still!

A wahm friend of mine put this fundraiser together and I am headed off to make my donation so I can listen to the other wahms (and sometimes their kids!) sing!
Important notes:The fundraiser is from December 13-25. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. To listen to the carols and donate please visit Carol for a Cause.
Once your donation is received, you will be redirected to a page where you can access all of the carols.
Okay I admit it, I sang along. Go check out Carol for a Cause to hear my daughter and I accompanying Kenny Chesney. ![]()

Ugh, everyone in my house is sick. My Dh went to bed after taking nyquil and is still awake an hour later. The kids went to bed with him and about 15 minutes ago came out of the room and said they were going to sleep in their own rooms because Daddy was being too loud for them. LOL
I have a head cold but it isn't too rough. I got a project done for school and now I'm down to a handful of assignments and commenting on others posts, I think. I mean yeah on the assignments, I think on the commenting. I need to find out when I need to take my test too.
I haven't taken any meds, hopefully drinking tons of water will be okay for me. I think we need to buy a humidifier - odd since we live in the south where the humidity is so bad most of the time! Do we have a dry winter though? I'll have to find that out.
Here's to feeling better soon!!!

So we left late this afternoon to hopefully get to the Chinese buffet place before dinner hours started. We were a half hour late because we had to stop at the post office first. The kids love the chinese place because they always get ice cream once they eat. They must have been hungry because they each had two plates. Usually they are so interested in the ice cream, they ignore the food!
Then we went to Wally World (only the third time in over a year that I have been there! Sad that I had to ruin that record...) and didn't find what we were looking for (which is freaking amazing!). So we head to Linens and Things only to first stop at World Market - which I LOVE! That store is freaking awesome. We of course found super cool holiday stuff on sale there PLUS a storewide sale of 10% off your purchase. I ended up getting the rest of what I needed for my family gifts I am giving out.
We went to EB Games after that because I want a cover for my controller for the Wii. LOL Yes that sounds totally wierd. But I just want one okay! They didn't have any, or rather, any that I wanted to buy. Finally I went to Linens and Things which the things must stand for crappy holiday gift packs and sheets by that one guy always on Oprah (love him!). Of course technically the sheets might be linens. . .
Finally to Ross' - which is a store I love. Have you looked at toys in there? Or kids clothes? Sweet deals people! I grabbed a toy and actually found what I was looking for at Linens and Things (woo hoo 96% done shopping for the holidays!) and lost my son.
Oh my gosh that was so horrible. He and DD were playing ONE aisle over from where DH and I were standing. Next thing you know, DD is next to us asking what we are doing with the leap pad toy in my hand and I can hear DS calling for us. I called for him a couple of times and it sounded like he was getting farther away. For a split second I thought there is no way someone is taking him out of the store - is there? I was walking fast and went around the store once, then some guy stopped me and said he was up in the clothes section - when I got there DH was with him and DS was crying. It took all I could do to not cry just then. I've never lost him anywhere, if I step into another aisle while he and his sister are looking at toys, I talk to them the entire time. Sure maybe it looks like I'm having a conversation with myself or whatever I am looking at, but I can hear my kids without having them be mad at having to be attached to my hip. Well ha, attached to my hip they will be! It sucked. DS said "I was lost" and he even told that to the checker person. She smiled and said "who found you" and he said "my Dad and sister and Mom" and she said "well that's good then" and he cheered up. Then we get the bright idea to go to the movies. It was about quarter to 10 by then. Yes, I'm totally a slacker Mom who doesn't follow bedtimes with my kids. LOL Come to find out a bunch of movies are starting at 10, so we go to Deck The Halls. Overall a good show, slightly cheesy at times, but a good show. DS fell asleep when there was about 15 minutes left, DD didn't at all. The drive home was short but they both fell asleep.
Of course right when we open the door, the cat shoots outside. It's freezing (30 degrees right now) and he wants outside! Idiot. He comes back after about two minutes though, thank goodness. They (whoever the cat cops are) are going to come around and set some kind of cat trap? Because one of the people on our street has a bunch of cats and other neighbors have complained. What a stupid thing to complain about, but whatever.
And now I'm going to bed to play the electronic Sodoku game we bought. Dude, it is seriously addicting. How was your weekend?
What are your superstitions?
Submitted by lazywong.
Sometimes I think about the black cat crossing the road one. Or walking under a ladder. Or picking up a penny. And jumping on a crack.
But those aren't technically MY superstitions.... and nah, I don't really believe in them. Mostly.
What's one thing you regret not doing?
Submitted by Mr. Nice.
You know, I really regret not having my degree already. Of course if I would have stayed in college that last year, who knows if I would have my completely adorable kiddos and my hubby. I figure I would, but everything would be different because of course the timeline would change.
Really, I don't REGRET not having my degree, I don't have any true regrets. I think I should have graduated back then, but oh well.

I am!
Okay I am 95% done. I need to still get a few things and the stocking stuffers and then I will be all the way done. My goal is to be done by the end of this weekend so I can spend next week wrapping the things I need to mail out. My next goal after that is to get everything mailed by December 10.
Yeah, that's a HUGE goal. I am so bad about getting things mailed out on time! We won't talk about the fact that I have a scale, can print postage from here and I can catch my mailman which would allow me to give him the package. Yeah, let's just skip that convo.
So 12 more days! Plenty of time.
I am looking forward to having everything gone - then I can make cookies and watch all the million holiday movies on tv.

So I set my alarm for 4:25 because I figured I would just jump up and wash my face, brush my teeth, get dressed and leave. Then I hit the snooze button. That's okay though because I still made it to Toys R Us at a little bit after 5 - and I didn't have to wait in the chilly morning air to get in like others!
I was prepared - I made a list by store with prices and stuck to it. Okay I bought three extra things not on the list, but I also didn't buy five things on the list. I did end up spending WAY less then I thought - mostly because I got to Target too late to get the 19" monitor that was on sale.
After Target I stopped at Staples - thinking I would be able to grab one of the 1 gig usb flash drives. Ha, yeah right! I guess the tickets for those were passed out before the store opened. I also wanted the photo paper for $3, but the line was HUGE and you could only buy one pack so I said no thanks and just left.
I actually went to two Targets - at the second one I looked for the monitor again, of course they were out. I forgot to look for a scooter for my daughter, which turned out to be okay because I found it online for the same price! Woo hoo, go me! ETA: they sold the one they had by the time I got to the checkout. That's what I get for being sucked into the online sales! I had fun! The traffic was not bad at all - I didn't have to wait because the lines were so long or anything. It was great. Based on my experience today, I would definitely go again.
Oh yeah and I've never gone out that early nor have I looked at the ads and wanted something so bad to go out that early. Plus I grew up in a really rural place where the closest mall was 2 1/2 hours away ~ the day after Thanksgiving is supposed to be when you decorate your house. Granted, I'm home early and we are still going to decorate.
